ADMISSIONS

To secure a place at St. Mary's Ascot, prospective students must register at least two years before the intended year of entry, with registration closing once capacity is reached. Admission is selective, requiring candidates to be Roman Catholic, seeking girls-only education, and interested in full boarding. While preference is given to sisters and daughters of alumnae, all applicants must undergo entrance examinations tailored to their entry point, whether at 11+, 13+, or 16+. These exams typically include assessments in English, mathematics, and additional subjects such as science, religious studies, and languages. Open mornings are held periodically throughout the year, providing families with insight into the school's ethos and facilities, while entrance exams and interviews occur between November and December for 13+ and 16+ candidates and in the Lent term for 11+ applicants. With only 65 places available annually, competition for admission is keen, necessitating thorough preparation and a strong academic profile to stand out among other candidates.
