ADMISSIONS

Putney High School admits around 110 students into Year 7 each year, with approximately 60 external candidates and 50 from the Junior School. The admissions process begins with a visit to the school, offering open events and tours to help families assess its suitability. Applications for the 11+ open in May of Year 5 and close in November of Year 6, with an adaptive digital entrance exam on maths and English held in November. Shortlisted candidates undergo the Athena Assessment, including interviews, with scholarship assessments for music and sport also considered. Offers are sent by mid-February, with a deposit required upon acceptance. The school's rigorous admission requirements for the sixth form include at least five GCSEs at grades 8/9, with three further subjects at grade 7, including English and maths. Putney High School strives to keep the 11+ assessment process relaxed and enjoyable, reflecting its down-to-earth ethos.
