ADMISSIONS

Admissions to Oundle School are competitive and occur primarily at 11+, 13+, and 16+, with occasional openings at 12+ and 14+. For Year 7 entry, typically 60 to 70 students are admitted, with no entrance exam required for those from Laxton Junior School. Most students join at Year 9, requiring application by the end of the autumn term of Year 6 and successful completion of the Common Entrance in Year 8 or Oundle's own entrance exams for non-prep school students. For Sixth Form, candidates must have at least three GCSEs at Grade 6 and three at Grade 7, including Maths and English, with ideally higher grades in the subjects they wish to study. Selection involves shortlisting based on predicted grades, achievements, and a personal statement, followed by an assessment weekend with interviews and subject-specific tests.
