Haberdashers’ Boys’ School is highly selective, with main entry points at 4+, 7+, 11+ and Sixth Form. For 11+ entry, registration typically closes in the autumn before entry. Applicants sit assessments in English, mathematics and reasoning, followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates to gauge academic potential, curiosity and readiness for the school’s academic demands. Sixth Form applicants usually sit entrance papers in their chosen subjects and attend an interview, with offers based on academic promise and predicted GCSE performance. Families are encouraged to attend open events to gain insight into the school’s academic culture, co-curricular breadth and pastoral approach. The admissions process aims to identify boys who demonstrate intellectual promise, enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
