ADMISSIONS

Admissions into Alleyn’s junior school occur at various stages in 4+, 7+ and 9+ (reception, year three and year five). Preparation for these should be based on a well-rounded approach, focusing on social skills as well as academic ability. For the senior school, places are offered through the 11+, 13+ and 16+. For entry at 11+ and 13+, exams are in January and consist of English, mathematics and reasoning. Successful candidates are then invited for an interview. There are sample papers provided by the school to show you and your child what to expect on the day. For the 16+ entry, candidates are required to submit a personal statement and information from their current school. Additionally, there is a written assessment and an interview. The assessment is made up of a qualitative reasoning paper, a quantitative reasoning paper and a critical writing paper.
