The University of Leicester is a recognised public research University with a sizeable campus with direct links to the heart of Leicester. Leicster is situated within the heart of Englnd in the East Midlands. Established under a different name in 1921, the university eventually grew, gaining university status by royal charter in 1957. With high levels of student satisfaction, ranking in the top 15 of UK universities, this university caters to its students' experience. There is a particular focus on research, with the university being recognised for numerous scientific breakthroughs, particularly the invention of genetic fingerprinting. STEM subjects at this university are especially renowned internationally.

ADMISSIONS
Admissions at the University of Leicester include a comprehensive Code of Practice detailing a fair application process. All applicaitons must come through UCAS before mid-January (October for the Medical School). Late applications will be accepted; however, they will receive a lower level of priority. You may apply independently or through a college, you must provide a detailed personal statement expressing your interest in our chosen course and the university. Interviews are uncommon but may occur at the discretion of the Admission Tutors. Offers are highly dependent on grades, with requirements varying from course to course.
