Aston University was established in 1895 as The Birmingham Municipal Technical School. Over time the univeristy has been known as many names, all focusing on its technological pursuit. In 1966 Aston University recieved its royal charter, in part due to its legacy as the UK's first college of advanced technology. It is a forerunner in education innovation, pioneering the placement year concept. The university is noted for its inspirational rhetoric and campus, subsequently, it has won awards such as 'University of the Year' and 'Outstanding Entrepreneurial University'.

ADMISSIONS
Aston University follows standard admissions processes with UCAS within UK. They provide either conditional or unconditional offers depending on grades and other application materials. Unconditional offers are largely based on the grade requirements of the previous years. Aston Ready is the universities contextual offer scheme, that screens students and will consider circumstance to reduce grade offers.
