ADMISSIONS

Admission to St James Senior Girls’ School is selective and takes place mainly at 11+, 13+, and 16. Applications aim to identify academic ability, enthusiasm, and compatibility with the school’s values. For 11+ entry, candidates sit papers in English, Mathematics, and Reasoning, followed by an interview with senior staff. References and school reports are also taken into account. Sixth Form entry is based on an interview, predicted GCSE grades, and a requirement to meet subject specific entry criteria for A level study.

Scholarships are offered for academic excellence, music, art, and drama. Means tested bursaries are available to support families who may require financial assistance. Open events are held throughout the year, giving prospective families the opportunity to experience the school’s calm atmosphere, distinctive ethos, and strong sense of community. St James seeks students who are committed, reflective, and ready to engage fully with both academic learning and personal growth within a thoughtful, supportive environment.
