ADMISSIONS

The admissions process at Eton College is meticulously designed to assess each applicant’s academic aptitude and suitability for the boarding environment. Registration opens until June 30th of Year 5 (the year in which a boy turns 10). Prospective students take the ISEB pretest in October or November of Year 6, accompanied by a thorough review of their head teacher’s reference. Approximately 65% of candidates progress to stage 2, scheduled in the spring or summer terms of Year 6, contingent upon their age. Stage 2 involves an interview and an online predictive test to gauge academic potential. All offers are conditional upon passing the Common Entrance exam in Year 8 or Eton’s own entrance exam for state school applicants. The school also admits boys into the sixth form via the Orwell Award or Sixth Form Entry, focusing on academic excellence and diverse school contributions. Eton strives to create an inclusive environment that supports each boy’s holistic development, welcoming students from a wide array of backgrounds and educational experiences.
