Course Overview



Students will learn the basics of reading comprehension. They will be given extracts from various unseen fiction and learn how to write analytically in response to the text. During the course, students will strengthen their basic reading and comprehension skills, as well as develop analytical skills through learning how to draw inferences from a text. They will learn the skill of detailed annotation, as well as how to interpret complex, abstract language. Students will also practise oracy and develop their vocabulary. They will be given questions, depending on their ability/level to test their understanding of the text and ability to communicate the key ideas presented.
